In Radix Sophorae Flavescentis Extract, there are a lot of alkaloids, they are Matrine, Oxymatrine, sophor-anol, N-methylcytisine, anagyrine, etc. The two main active ingredients are Matrine and Oxymatrine. Matrine has insecticidal function and Oxymatrine has antibacterial function.
Oxymatrine is a kind of alkaloids from Sophora japonica; and the main plant origin is Sophora japonica, also available from other plant origin such as Sophora subprostrata, top parts of Sophora alopecuroides, and Radix Sophorae Subprostrata root.
